Circular Economy has made its way to practically every aspect of people’s lives. This movement extends to the architectural and construction industry. It is one of the industries that is still being questioned for the responsibility it has on the well-being of the environment as well as the architectural profession’s direct and indirect impacts on nature and the world.

Themed Towards Circular Living, this issue of ASA Journal features some interesting and inspiring architectural projects whose design concepts and processes highlight the maximal use of resources. Ranging from construction materials, renovation of old buildings, or the use of natural, clean energy, all the way to the design and building processes devised to minimize environmental impacts in the area or ecosystem in which a work of architecture is situated. We also talk with Thor Kaichon Studio who began his practice with an eager interest and passion for bamboo architecture about its continuously growing portfolio and the organizational management of the studio.
